Aloha, my name is Lara Claydon, aka “Lala”, as some people call me!
I am a professional stand-up paddler, longboarder & ocean athlete from Maui, Hawai’i. Since I was thirteen, I have competed professionally in stand-up paddling on the Stand-Up Paddle World Tour, also known as the APP World Tour. After receiving my high school diploma in twenty-eighteen, I took two years off to travel & compete on the APP World Tour full-time.
In August twenty-twenty, I focused on pursuing a different dream and continued my studies at Bond University in Australia for my bachelor’s degree. Throughout my two years of studying, I continued competing as part of Bond’s Elite Athlete program, allowing my studies to cater to my professional athlete schedule. Two years later, this August twenty-twenty-two, I will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in communication and a minor in public relations.
I hope to finish at Bond University and pursue a successful career within the surfing industry that will allow me to continue competing & traveling around the world.
I am grateful to have the opportunities to do what I love, sharing my passion & love for the ocean, adventure, traveling and surfing with those around me.
